Bacon Wins Round 1 of WOR Quad Enduro Championship

Tyre-Line & C R Products backed rider, Joe Bacon, has taken the win in the 1st round of this year’s WOR Quad Enduro Championship.

Held at Mamble, Nr Kidderminster on 4th May, the GNCC style track comprised fast, open field sections combined with tight, technical woodland areas to test rider and equipment to the max. Joe, riding a Polaris Scrambler XP 1000S, not only took the honours in the 4x4 Expert class but also took the win overall.

Joe supplied us the following report from his brilliant day’s racing :-

“Steve put on a hell of a track as usual, so much so I think it is my favourite track I’ve raced on! Starting 6th off the line, I quickly made-up places, climbing up to 3rd, when I suddenly lost power steering and dropped back down the order. A quick on and off of the quad sorted and off again to make up places. I was absolutely flying round the field sections (it was a proper UK GNCC style track) with technical but flowing woodland sections with good lines and very good mix of terrain which my C R Products supplied Ultimax Drive Belt’s and Tyre-Line wheel and tyre combo pulled me through. I pulled into the pits and re-fuelled on lap 4 when my dad told me I was in the lead not only in class but overall! From then on it was a straight battle to the flag with young gun Freddie Webber on my heels all the way.”

“I took the class win and the overall win for the day. It’s the first time I’ve ever taken an overall and it felt so good!
Thank you to absolutely everyone that helps with my racing from sponsors to friends & family and those that take time to share little bits of advice.”

Congratulations to Joe and all the other competitors, the championship now moves on to Round 2 at Maeshafn, nr Chester on 9th June, where Joe hopes to repeat his success.
